Before you book: agree in writing
- Confirm the exact item, dates, rental price, included accessories, permitted use, and pickup and return times.
- If a deposit is agreed, record its amount, who receives it, payment method, return timing, and permitted deductions. Check applicable law and payment-provider rules.
- Agree cancellation, late-return, cleaning, fuel, malfunction, and damage responsibilities before paying or collecting the item.
- Check operating instructions, required experience, licenses, permits, and any insurance with the relevant provider. Do not assume your policy covers a peer-to-peer rental.
At pickup: document the handoff
- Meet in a well-lit public place where practical. Share private pickup details only when needed, and do not proceed if you feel unsafe.
- Inspect and test the item together. Do not accept equipment with damaged wiring, missing safety guards, or other hazards.
- Take dated photos of all sides, existing wear, serial numbers, and included parts. Record charge, fuel, or mileage where relevant.
- Review safe operation, confirm the agreed return time, and keep the written terms, payment record, and condition photos.
During use and at return
- Follow manufacturer instructions and the agreed permitted use. Stop using a faulty or damaged item and notify the owner promptly.
- Do not repair, modify, or open equipment without the owner's approval.
- Return on time under the agreed cleaning and fuel terms. Inspect together, repeat the condition photos, and account for every accessory.
- Record any agreed damage charge or deposit return in writing and preserve messages and receipts until resolved.
If something goes wrong
Contact the owner or renter first and try to resolve the issue directly and in good faith. Use the written agreement, starting and return condition records, and facts about what happened to discuss responsibility and any deposit deduction.
Contact RentRush support for platform or account issues, or to report suspected misuse of the service. Support is not a promise of arbitration, enforcement of the rental agreement, reimbursement, or a guaranteed refund.
RentRush does not inspect, verify, insure, or guarantee listed items or members and is not a party to the rental agreement. Members arrange payments, refunds, deposits, and damage claims directly. For immediate danger, suspected theft, or unlawful activity, contact emergency services or the appropriate local authority.
